1.(1) Distance covered by aeroplane in 8 hours = 8 x 532 = 4256 km
Distance covered by helicopter in 32 hours = 2 x 4256 = 8512
Distance covered by helicopter 8 hours = 8512/4 = 2128 km

2.(5)Let the radius of semicircle = 1925
πr2/2 = 1925  r2 = 1225   r = 35
Circumference of semicircle = πr + 2 r = 22/7 x 35 + 2 x35 =180
Breadth of rectangle = 180 cm
Length of rectangle = perimeter of square = 4 x 48 = 192 cm
Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (180 + 192) = 744 cm

3.(1)Let the odd numbers be x, x + 2, x + 4, x + 6 and the even numbers be y, y + 2, y + 4.
Now  (4x + 12) – (3y + 6) = 20
And (y + 4) – (x + 6) = 5
Solving them, we get x = 35 and y = 42
Required sum = 35 + 42 = 77

4.(3)Let the adjacent angles of the parallelogram be 4x and 5x. then
4x +5x = 180
X =20
Angles of the parallelogram are 80° and 100°.
One angle of the given quadrilateral = 240°
Let the remaining three angles be 4y, 11y and 9y.
240 + 4y + 11y + 9y = 360
Y = 5°
So the angles of the quadrilateral are 20°, 55°, 45° and 240°.
Required sum = 240° + 20° = 260°

5.(2)Let the present ages of A, B, C and D be 2x, 7x, 8x and 10x respectively.
Now   2x + 7x = 54
X = 6
Average age of C and D at present = 10x = 60 years
Average age of C and D after 4 years = 64 years

6.(4)Marks of T = 75
Marks of R = 65
Marks of Q = 110
Marks of P = 85
Marks of U = 120
Maximum marks = 200
Required percentage = 120/200 x 100 = 60%

7.(2)Let the capacity of the tank be 30 litres.
So Pipe A can fill 3 litre/hour, Pipe B can fill 2 litre/hour and Pipe C can empty 1 litre/hour.
Together they can fill = 3 + 2 – 1 = 4 litre/hour
Tank filled in 6 hours = 24 litres
Time to fill the remaining tank by pipe A alone = 6/3 = 2 hours

8.(4)Let the largest and smallest angles be x and 3x. Now
x + 3x + 56 = 180
x = 31
largest angle = 93°.

9.(4)3W = 2M
21 W = 14 M
Let the required number of days be x.
N1 D1 H1 = N2D2 H2
15 X 21 X 8 = 14 X 6 X x
X = 30 days

10.(2)CP of first item = Rs. 52000
Selling price of second item = 52000 x 0.75 x 1.4
His overall profit = 54600 – 52000 = 2600
