Percent means ‘per hundred’. X% means X per hundred.
Any percentage can be converted into an equivalent fraction by dividing it by 100.
Any fraction can also be converted back to its percent value by multiplying with 100.
Important points:
- To express a/b as a fraction: (a/b) x 100
- Percentage increase: (increase / original value) x 100
- Percentage decrease: (decrease / original value) x 100
