IBPS RRB notification has been announced today and there are many doubts/queries coming in the mind of aspiring candidates. We have given below a list of frequently asked questions and their answers.
What are the posts available under this recruitment project?
The recruitment will be done at two levels - Group-“A”-Officers (Scale-I, II & III) and Group "B" Office Assistants (Multi-purpose). Group "A" posts can be considered equivalent to Probationary Officer and Office Assistants can be considered equivalent to a Clerk in PSU Banks.
When will be the exam conducted?
Tentative Date for Online Examination for Officers 21.09.2013/ 22.09.2013
Tentative Date for Online Examination for Office Assistant (Multipurpose) 28.09.2013/ 29.09.2013/ 05.10.2013/ 06.10.2013
When will the result be declared?

Which Banks will participate in this recruitment Process?
Total 62 Regional Rural Banks, from various states will participate in this recruitment process.
How many vacancies will be there?
It is not fixed and will depend on the vacancies created at each participating bank in next one year.
Will there be a common interview after the written result?
No. There will not be any common interview. Banks will publish vacancies as and when they have the requirement and candidates qualified in this common written test will be elegible to apply.It should be noted that IBPS is a test conducting agency. The ultimate recruitment will be done by each participating RRB who will independently issue a separate recruitment notification,
Will the exam conducted online or offline (OMR Based)?
Common Written Exam for RRBs will be conducted online.
Can I apply for both the posts - Officers and Office Assistants?
A candidate can apply for the Post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and can also apply for the Post of Officer. However a candidate can apply for only one post in officer’s cadre i.e. for Officer Scale-I or Scale-II or Scale-III. However, Candidates have to apply separately and pay fees separately for each post applied for.
What is the age criteria to apply in this common written exam?
Age Criteria as on 01-07-2013
For Officer Scale- III- Above 21 years - Below 40 years
For Officer Scale- II- Above 21 years
For Officer Scale- I- Above 18 years
For Office Assistant (Multipurpose) - Between 18 years and 28 years

What is the educational qualification required for various posts in this recruitment process?
I have given exams of my final year graduation but result has not yet been declared. Can I apply?
No. You can not apply. If the result is out on or before 1-July-2013, only then you can apply.
What is the application Fee?
Application fee is Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates and Rs. 600/- for all others. It should be noted that a person applying for both posts has to pay seperately.
Do I need to know the local language to apply from a state?
The candidates for Officer Scale I and Office Assistants –(Multipurpose) are required to possess proficiency in the local language of the State / UT for which vacancies he / she wishes to apply. For ensuring proficiency in local language, the candidate should have passed 10th standard exam with local language as a subject.
What will be validity of the score issued by IBPS in this recruitment process?
Score issued by IBPS will be valid for one year from the date of display of the Score on IBPS’s website and will be considered for recruitment exercises during that period.
When will the registration start?
Registration will start from 4-July-2013 for both posts.
