1. Union Transport Minister Dr. C. P. Joshi gets additional charge of Railway Ministry.
Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways Dr C P Joshi have been given additional charge of Railway Ministry today a day after the resignation of Mukul Roy and other Trinamool Congress ministers.
2. World Veteran Wrestling C’ship : Kartar Singh wins in 97 kg category
Indian Wrestler Kartar Singh has created history by winning the title in 97 kilogram category for the 16th time in the World Veteran Wrestling Championship, presently on at Budhapest, Hungary.
3. India, Pak sign three agreements to improve economic relations

India and Pakistan have signed three agreements for co-operation in customs matters, redressal of trade grievances and conforming to quality standards to further normalise economic relations between the two countries
4. Congress withdraws support to Mamta led govt. in WB
Congress has withdrawn support to Trinamool Congress Chief Mamta Bannerjee led government in West Bengal. The party leaders met Governor M.K. Narayanan in Kolkata today evening and handed over the letter withdrawing support to the state Government. Earlier, the six Congress Ministers tendered their resignation to the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
5. Ivory Coast closes its border with Ghana
The Ivory Coast has closed its border with Ghana. The country's interior minister told the Reuters news agency that land, air and sea borders have been closed until further notice after at least 10 people were killed in attacks on its army and police launched from Ghanaian territory. Gunfire erupted at 3 a.m local time on Friday in the town of Noe, home to a border crossing between Ivory Coast and eastern neighbour Ghana. The attack on the border came hours after gunmen tried to seize weapons from two police stations and a gendarmerie in two neighbourhoods of commercial capital, Abidjan.
6. Taiwanese Premier survives no-confidence vote
Taiwanese Premier Sean Chen comfortably survived a no-confidence vote brought by opposition parties today over his cabinet's failure to curb rising unemployment and inflation. Parliamentary speaker Wang Jin-pyng said the bid failed by 46 votes to 66. 
NOTE:- A minimum of 57 votes, representing more than half of the 113-seat parliament, would have been required to oust the premier.
7. 9th World Hindi Conference began at Johannesburg 
9th World Hindi Conference began at Johannesburg today. It was inaugurated by Minister of State for External Affairs Ms. Parneet Kaur. South Africa's Minister for Finance, Praveen Govardhanji is the chief guest. The Art and Culture Minister of Mauritius, Mukeshvar Chini is also attending the conference. About 800 delegates from all over the world are participating in the three day conference. The theme of the conference this year is 'Bhasha ki asmita aur Hindi ka vaishvik sandarbh.'
8. India and Nepal signed MoU for constructing School Building
Indian Embassy in Kathmandu and Nepalese authorities signed an MoU for granting the amount to Shri Mahendra Higher Secondary School in Achham district under Indian-Nepal Economic Cooperation Programme.
The proposed building will provide better educational opportunity to over 1300 students, about half of whom are girls. Besides, India has gifted two ambulances to health care facilities in the district.
9. Former footballer from Delhi, Sardar Man Singh Batra Died
Former footballer from Delhi, Sardar Man Singh Batra died following a prolonged illness. He was 88yrs of age.
10. HCL Tech signed Multi-million dollar deal with Freescale
HCL Technologies signed a multi-million dollar deal with the Texas-based Freescale Semi-conductor and embedded processing solution providing company. As per the deal, HCL will be involved in transformation of Freescales IT infrastructure apart from being an exclusive technology partner for a period of five years. HCL will offer helpdesk support to Freescale across 20 countries with a user base of across 19,000 employees.
11. China tests new generation inter-continental ballistic missile
China on Tuesday announced testing of a new generation of inter-continental ballistic missile, Dongfeng-41, with a strike range of 14,000 km and capable of carrying multiple nuclear warheads.
12. Economic growth in Asia in the last decade has positioned the region as the growth engine of the world. 
At a time when industralised countries growth has greatly slowed down, GDP of Asian countries is estimated to grown by 6.9 per cent in 2012 and 7.3 per cent in 2013. The Asian region is thus expected to play a very crucial role in driving and stabilizing global recovery process.
