CLAT 2013 Result Declared

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2013) results has been declared today i.e. 31st May where 30,915 candidates appeared in the entrance test for admission into 14 premier law institutions in the country. This year CLAT was conducted by Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur where the total number of candidates increased by 16% compared to the last year. Out of total candidates this year, 29,530 applied for LLB and rest 1,385 have registered for LLM.


There were mixed reactions received by the aspirants on the CLAT exam paper this year as several students who appeared in the exam complained that it was lengthy paper where as other bunch of students said format was same as of last year but unlike last year where several questions were out of the syllabus, this year’s paper mostly had predictable questions. The newly-introduced negative marking, also left the students uncertain. Students will lose -0.25 mark for every wrong answer.


Students would be able to check the results on the official website of CLAT on http://www.clat.ac.in, after published. Students can also call up the CLAT helpline for any issues or concerns in the results released on 0771-3057618, 3057619, 82238-44044, 82238-55055.

LIC AAO: Re-exam for Maharshtra Candidates who missed exam due to MPSC Exam

LIC has notified on its website that it will be conducting a separate online exam for all those candidates who wrote the MPSC examination on 18th May, 2013 but could not take the LIC AAO examination held on 18th May, 2013 in the State of Maharashtra. Such candidates are eligible to re-register for a separate online examination.

The last date for re-registration is 8th June, 2013. The tentative date of examination will be 23rd June, 2013. Candidates will be intimated by email/SMS regarding downloading of hall tickets from 18th June, 2013.

RBI Assistants Vacancies: Doubts Clarified

RBI Assistants Exam is a very good opportunity for those who want to make a career with India's Central Bank. As the detailed notification for 525 vacancies in already out, candidates are having many doubts in reference to these vacancies. Given below are the Frequently asked questions and their answers -

Question: I am pursuing graduation can I apply ?
Ans. No, This examination is meant for graduates only.

Question: I have just given my final year examination for graduation can I apply ?
 Ans. No, only if your results have  been declared on or before 1st May 2013

Question: What is the percentage required for graduation ?
Ans. 50% is required in graduation for General and OBC candidates and simple pass class is required for SC/ST candidates

Question: Is this an online examination ?
Ans  Yes,

Question: Is there a sectional cut off ?
Ans. Yes

Question: Which state should I apply from ?
Ans. As per pt. (iii) on page 4 of the notification

“ Candidates applying for post in a particular state should be proficient in the language of the state i.e. know to read, write, speak and understand the language”.

Question: Can I apply from more than one State
Ans. No.

Question: I know how to speak Marathi, can I apply from Maharashtra ?
Ans.  No, It is clear that you need to read and write Marathi,  Mere Oral knowledge of any language is not sufficient.

Question: How will language proficiency be tested ?
Ans. It may done at the time of the Interview, you may be given a paragraph to write, alternatively you may be given material to read and comprehend in front of the Interview panel. The Interview panel may ask you questions in the regional language to see your comfort in that language

So if you do not know a particular language don’t apply from that state, it can lead to disqualification from this job and from all future jobs also

As per the chart above there is not much difference in the vacancies in the Hindi belt offices, so you can choose any office of your choice as per your location preference.

Question: If I apply from a particular office will I be posted in that office ?

As per Pt. (iv) on page 5 of the notification

  “Selected candidates will be initially posted in RBI’s office within the Recruitment Zone for which
they had applied. However, they are liable to be transferred in administrative exigencies to centres
grouped and classified into West, South, North and East Zone offices as under: “

(a) West Zone:
Ahmedabad, Bhopal (including Raipur), Mumbai (including Belapur), Nagpur,Pune and Panaji.
(b) South Zone:
Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochiand Thiruvananthapuram.
(c) North Zone:
 Chandigarh(including Shimla), Jaipur, Jammu / Srinagar, Kanpur, Lucknow (including Dehradun) and
New Delhi.
(d) East Zone:
Bhubaneswar, Guwahati (including all North Eastern states), Kolkata and Patna(including Ranchi).

So you would initially be posted at the office where you applied but may be transferred, so you should be mentally prepared for transfer


Question: There are very few vacancies in Hindi speaking states, is it worth applying ?

Ans. Yes, this job is for RBI assistants, securing a government job and that too in the Reserve Bank of India,is a matter of great pride and honour even if there are few vacancies, there is no harm in applying, since the pattern of the exam is very similar to that of IBPS Clerk. For bank jobs aspirants this is an ideal opportunity to test themselves.

In case you are already through with your IBPS preparation then there is nothing new which you need to study So no harm in applying. It is only a matter of Rs 400/- at the most.

In case you are targeting IBPS PO – 2013 or IBPS Clerk 2013, you should treat this RBI assistant’s examination as valuable practice for the examinations coming later in the year.

Also remember this profile of RBI assistants is no small profile, no less than a Clerical level cadre job in a PSU Bank , you will have a good career if you are selected.

It is also a prestigious job, so you need not feel disheartened if the number of vacancies is small. Only after trying can you succeed in life.


Question: What is the pattern of the paper and how should I prepare ?

Ans.   The pattern is similar to that of IBPS Clerk exam, 40 questions per section and 5 sections in total. So your preparation should be that of  IBPS Clerk.

Currently there are two Clerical level vacancies Insurance Assistants and RBI Assistants, both examinations are taking place in the month of July, and more or less the examination pattern will be similar, so you should target both these exams simultaneously.

Both these examinations are an ideal warm-up for the examination scheduled later in the year viz :-

(1)   IBPS RRB – II Officers and Assistants 2013
(2)   IBPS PO-III 2013
(3)   IBPS Clerk – III 2013
