Q. Who is conducting this examination ?
Ans. National Insurance company is conducting this examination on behalf of 4 Public Sector General Insurance companies.
Q. Is this like a Common Written Examination for Insurance Companies?
Ans Yes.
Q. I am pursuing Graduation can I apply ?
Ans. Yes, If you have 60 % in your Class XII exams (50% if you belong to SC/ST category)
Q. I have completed Graduation can I apply ?
Ans. Yes , there is no graduation percentage requirement for candidates who have completed their graduation
Q. I have just given my Class XII board exams can I apply ?
Ans. Yes, if your results are out by 31st May 2013, and you satisfy the criteria given in Pt. 1 above
Q. What is the job profile? Is this a target based job ?
Ans. This profile is for administrative assistants, and the job profile will be similar to a Clerical cadre job in Public Sector Banks. Your job would be to assist in day to day office work in the Insurance company in which you would be selected. So, this is not a target based job (Target based jobs are only for Development Officer and ADOs.).
Q. Can I apply from more than one state ?
Ans. No
Q. Which state should I apply from ?
Ans. You should apply from that state whose regional language you are conversant with. We have done a small analysis for the Hindi speaking states below :
As per the chart above, the maximum no. of vacancies are in Delhi, given that is the national capital and a financial hub, it is our recommendation that you should apply from Delhi, as the no. of vacancies is more as well as considering other factors.
Q. Can I choose the company which I want to be selected for ?
Ans. No, as per Pt. (xii) on page 11 of the notification
“Candidates may be considered for employment in any of the four Companies viz. National Insurance, The New India Assurance, Oriental India or United India Insurance. Company‟s decision in this regard shall be final”
You should choose a state and give the examination, the company which you get selected in finally does not appear to be in your control from the notification published.
Q. What is the Structure of the examination ?
(A) Phase 1 : Written Examination
Marks will be reduced to a base of 35 i.e. if you get 150 marks in the written test, your base score will be 150 *35/250 = 21/35
(B) Phase 2 : Interview and Computer Proficiency Test
Interview will be scored out of 15 Marks directly, and Computer Proficiency Test will be of qualifying nature only.
The total of the Written Examination (35 marks) and Interview (15 Marks) i.e 50 marks will determine the merit list.
Q. Is this an online Test ?
Ans. No, It is not mentioned so, hence in all probability this should be a paper and pencil test
Q. Is there a sectional cut off ?
Ans. It is not clear from the notification but you should be mentally prepared for it.
Q. What is the syllabus of the Written Examination ?
Ans. It is similar to that of the IBPS/SBI/SBI Associate Clerical Examination and questions should be of the same difficulty level.
