 Answers with Explanations: (1-10):
1.(2): Let the money = x

              x/14 – x/21 = 300
             3x-2x/42 = 300
              x = Rs 12600

2. (1): selling price =  8400/0.75 x 1.40 = 15680

3. (5): SI = PRT/100
             = 16500x16x14/100 = Rs 10560

4. (2): Speed of truck = 360/8 = 45km/hr
             Speed of car = 360/6 = 60 km/hr
             Ratio = 45 : 60 = 9 : 12 = 3 : 4
5. (1): let total marks be x
        7x/100 – 870 = 975
    X = 105x100/7 = 1500

6.  (5): middle no. = 56.5
              So no. will be 55, 56, 57, 58
             Product of A & C = 55 x 57 = 3135

7. (4): let Sarita’s age be x
              Kavita’s Age = 2x
            8 year hence Kavita’s age = 2x + 8
           Sarita’s age = x + 8
           k/5 = 2x + 8/x + 8 x 22/13
           26x + 104 = 22x + 176
           4x = 72
            X = 18
           Kavita’s age = 2 x 18 = 36 years

8.  (5):

9. (4): x/160 – x/200 = 2
    40x/200x160 = 2
    X = 2x200x4 = 16oo sweets were distributed

10.  (3) 4a = ¼ x 2 (l+b)
      44 = ¼ x 2 (51+b)
      88 - 51 + b
      B = 37
     Side of square = 44/4 = 11
     Difference = 37 – 11 = 26 cm.
