Explanation:It is not proper to use comparative Degree here. 
Hence, “ the new/ latest type of automatic machines” will be correct usage.

Explanation:Here past Perfect should be used. Hence, “the show was already begun” should be replaced by “the show had already begun”.

4.(1) 
Explanation:Here, Objective Case should be replaced by Possessive Case, Hence, the fact of my being …..
will be the correct sentence.

5.(2) 
Explanation:“As if takes plural form of Verb, generally in Past Tense, Hence, the sea looks as if it have/ had been ….. will be correct sentence.

6.(2) 
Explanation:Replace group of words ‘the two first chapters of the book’ by ‘the first two chapters of the book’. 
When cardinal and ordinal Adjectives are used before a Noun in a sentence, then we should use Ordinal Adjective first and then the Cardinal Adjective.
Look at the sentences:
I have read the three first chapters - (Wrong)
I have read the first three chapters - (Correct)

7.(3) 
Explanation:Preposition “for” should be used with the word “thirst”. Hence replace “of knowledge” by “for knowledge”.

8.(2) 
Explanation:If two actions are completed in the past, then Past Perfect is used for the action completed earlier and Simple Past is used for the later action.
Look at the sentences:
The train had started before I reached the station.
I had done my exercise when she came to see me. 
Hence, replace “when he had reached” by “when he reached.”

Explanation:In direct statement, if Reporting verb is in Past Tense, the Reported Speech will also be expressed in Past Tense.

10.(2)
Explanation:The use of “up” with “cope” is superfluous; hence, ‘to cope with” will be the correct usage.
Look at the sentences:
He was not able to cope with the stresses and strains of the job.
Desert plants are adapted to cope with extreme heat.
